my teacher would always open a youtube-nocookie page when they opened a youtube video and the video would take up the entire browser window. they were using firefox to do this. i think this is kinda cool and i want to know how this is done and if i can replicate it on other browsers too.

To get a link for a video like that, go to the video on YouTube, select share, embedded, then check the "Enable privacy enhanced mode" checkbox. You'll then have to dig the url out of the iframe src that it gives you. Should work on any browser.
